Ah Ms D!  I’m super excited to talk about her and her session.  She’s been my main squeeze (hair and makeup squeeze that is).  I’ve worked with her for over 4 years but she’s been my full partner in crime for about a year.  This girl knows her stuff and creates gorgeous looks for my clients.  After hearing clients swoon over their image for so long, she finally decided, enough was enough!  It was her turn to feel gorgeous.. And gorgeous she is.

No two sessions with me are the same and D was no exception.  We incorporated her love of books and coffee, vintage style portraiture, and a little rock-n-roll for her husband too!  And her make-up was of course ON POINT!  You have to check out her images- you are seriously missing out if you don’t!

Tell us your story, a little bit about you and why you decided to do a boudoir session?

I had been working with Cassy, doing hair and makeup for sessions, for a while and the excitement I heard from everyone who came in was so contagious! I wanted my chance to have my pictures taken by Cassy. I knew I was missing out on something they got to experience, and I was totally jealous!

What was your biggest concern prior to booking your Boudoir Session? How do you feel now?

I’ve always struggled with body image (large bottom half, small top half, red bumps on my arms, cellulite, pale skin… You get the idea), and have never been comfortable showing my body off. Even shorts in summer were out of the question, so lingerie was way outside my comfort zone! Cassy made me feel so comfortable in my own skin, and after she told me how good I looked 20 times (cause that’s what she does- and she means it!), I started to believe her too!

Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with Cassy compare to your prior experience?

I had a session once before with a friend, but we were both inexperienced, so it was pretty awkward, and I did not choose flattering outfits… It wasn’t a bad experience, but nothing like the full experience I had with Cassy and all her expertise! Cassy made me feel comfortable and confident to bring out the best looks for me!

What, specifically, did you enjoy most about your portrait session and why?

I loved that everything felt so relaxed and fun! I didn’t feel exposed, even though I was barely covered. And I didn’t have to know what to do or make any decisions for myself. Cassy knew exactly what would look best, and I knew I could trust her expertise!

What did doing this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Tell me your story.

I absolutely LOVE how I look in my images! I don’t normally like to look back at pictures of myself, but I’ve found myself looking through my images from Cassy on more than one occasion. Cassy perfectly captured me and my personality, and looking through those images brings back the confidence I felt that day! I finally believe my husband when he tells me I look good!

Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?

I knew a little of what to expect from working with Cassy for other sessions, but it was so much more when it was my own session!

After all that you do for my clients, and other people, thank you for making yourself a priority!  You are a fantastic woman and I’m grateful I get to work with you <3
