We’ve been sold the lie that turning 40 (or 50) is somehow the end of our youth. I bought it: hook, line, and sinker! I can very vividly remember when my mom turned 40 and the sour look on her face whenever she said the word Forty-something that told me everything my 10 year old heart needed to know…. 40 and beyond = Yucky!
But let me tell you a secret I get to witness in the studio every single week—it is actually the beginning of your absolute freedom.
I’m turning 47 this year, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that I am at my absolute best right now. I’m officially done settling or shrinking to make everyone else comfortable. Because what did doing that for decades actually get me? Cortisol levels through the roof, pure exhaustion, and a racing mind that refuses to quit when my head hits the pillow at night. Not anymore.
This is the era where you finally stop caring so deeply about what everyone else thinks. You have earned every bit of your complexity, your wisdom, and your fire.
