“The most frequent question I would get is “What are you going to do with them?” and really I couldn’t answer. I just wanted this. It doesn’t really matter to me if I share them or not because I wanted to do this for myself.”

Ms A has one of the most amazing attitudes and outlooks I’ve encountered.  When we did her video consultation and I dove in deep to find out her “why”, I loved that she felt that age was just a number.  When she said “(At 30) I haven’t peaked yet, I continue to get better.  Women are like wine, we get better with age”.  And it’s true.  Physically I’m very different than I was in my 20s but I am so very proud of my “aging”.  I’m more accomplished, have a better grasp on what’s important, & confident in going after what I want.  Beauty in the female form is not just “skin deep”.

Since she had done a session before, we decided to do some lingerie looks but I wanted to make this different for her and really celebrate her hard work.  (This girl works her butt off in the gym!)  Check out her story (you really have to- her outlook is seriously contagious!) & images below

Tell us your story, a little bit about you and why you decided to do a boudoir session?

I recently turned 30 and as a gift to myself I wanted to do a boudoir shoot. Turning 30 I have far more confidence in myself than I ever did in my early/mid 20s. There is a stigma with getting older that I have found to not be true. Being in my “prime” didn’t happen in my 20s. I haven’t peaked yet, I continue to get better and I wanted to embody that. Women are like wine, we get better with age.

What was your biggest concern prior to booking your Boudoir Session? How do you feel now?

I honestly didn’t have any concerns. Chatting prior to booking was incredibly informative and even after the frequent check ins to prepare were helpful to keep myself on track with what I needed to be prepared. She has a wonderful checklist to help her clients remember everything they need and avoid the panic of possibly forgetting about something. 

Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with Cassy compare to your prior experience?

I have! I have done a shoot once before with a friend that needed some advertising pictures for her business. My experience with Cassy was wonderful. She fueled my confidence even further and made the whole experience fun as we moved through the time. 

What, specifically, did you enjoy most about your portrait session and why?

The attention to detail! She could see every detail from the way fabric sat against me to the angles of my body. She knows how to tweak little things to get the most flattering angle that is truly you. It allowed me to relax and know that she won’t take a bad picture. Also the constant praise to my butt was a wonderful addition. I work hard for that and it’s nice to get the praise!

What did doing this shoot do for your self confidence, self worth, and self image? Tell me your story.

I felt so full of self love during the review session. Although I am a confident person there are still parts of me that I don’t like. My smile being a prime example. She was able to capture my smile in a way that brought me to love it. It’s genuine and I’m so grateful to see myself in that light. Dad jokes are truly a great way to bring out true happiness in a person. 

Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?

It was what I had hoped it would be at a high standard. The space is adorable. Her company is calming and I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. 

Is there anything extra you would like to tell us?

I loved my session and I still look at my photos over and over. When I told people I was doing this, the most frequent question I would get is “What are you going to do with them?” and really I couldn’t answer. I just wanted this. I wanted to do this for myself and I love seeing the images. I show friends. Maybe I’ll post them. Maybe I’ll print them. It doesn’t really matter to me if I share them or not because I wanted to do this for myself. 

I wanted to remind myself that I am beautiful inside and out. Never forget that.
