Corsets, Garters, Appliques, Balconettes, Oh My! The world of Lingerie can be so confusing- thank goodness you have me to help you out <3

When you are first starting out in the lingerie world, it can be very overwhelming. You walk into your local Victoria’s Secret- walls lined with so many bras, panties, robes, and more. Then a cute saleswoman comes at you with a tape measure asking your size and BOOM- I’m in sensory and personal space overload in 2 seconds flat.

It doesn’t have to be that way though! Whether you are getting ready for a photoshoot or just looking to have some fun spicing things up, knowing the best lingerie styles to suit your body type is step #1. And you know what? You may just be surprised on how many unique ways you can wear some of the options I will cover below.

Bra and Panty Sets

Ah the tried and true Bra and Panty. You can’t go wrong here and believe it or not, those lingerie stores know what they are talking about when they try to sell you the matching panty. I have yet to hear from a fella that he digs the mismatched sets.

When choosing colors, look for muted, matte, or jewel toned colors to bring out your natural glow. Not feeling colorful? You can never go wrong with Black! It is the tried and true classic. When choosing size, I do recommend getting measured by a professional because over 80% of women are wearing the wrong size. BONUS TIP: If you aren’t feeling your midsection, choose mid to high rise bottoms or add a wide sectioned garter belt to add some extra spice!

Corsets

Corsets are THE lingerie item most women think of first. They shape figures into that hourglass most women gravitate towards. Key to picking the best corset: keep it classy and go for ones with a sweetheart neckline. (See below) Corsets with a straight neckline can flatten your girls by pushing them to the side which is not the look most women are going for.

Body Suits

For those of you who remember the 90s, body suits were all the craze. They’ve made a comeback and in the best possible way! Coming in all shapes, materials, and styles, there is a body suit to flatter almost any body type. They are super flattering for women who are looking for more coverage across their midsection. BONUS TIP: Go for ones with a cheeky bottom cut to accentuate your booty or a super plunge neckline to up the wow factor.

Shape wear

Yes- shape wear has become super sexy! Perfect for showing off your curves and super flattering all while leaving a little more to the imagination. Lace and Layers

Lingerie should be anything but boring and lace is having it’s day now. Found a cute piece of lingerie that might be a little too daring for you? Pair it with a lace or sheer top over it so you feel covered but still have that peek-a-boo sultry look you want.

Pro tip: When looking at bottoms, always look for ones that will frame that tushy. I recommend cheeky style vs a g-string. They look good on every booty!
