Tiffany & Shea- Greeley Iowa Wedding

Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible – it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.-Barbara de Angelis

Barabara de Angelis was 100% right when she said “love is a formidable force yet invisible” and as photographer, it’s my job day in, day out to try to make that powerful force visible when photographing couples.  Some days, my job is more challenging than others.  This day was not one of them.  From the moment I sat down to start planning Shea and Tiffany’s engagement session last fall, I knew they had something special.  They share a comfortable and subdued connection that feels effortless when you are with them and it shined so bright the day Jeremiah and I photographed them at the Herbert Hoover National Historical Site.  I was overjoyed to be a part of their wedding day… and then I got the blessed news that finally after years of unanswered prayers, I was becoming a mom.  My due date was the week before their wedding date and even though Tiffany and Shea were given the option to choose another photographer, they stayed the course just to give me the opportunity to be the one to capture their wedding day.  I was humbled and honored by their choice and even though my little man decided to arrive just two days before their wedding, I was with them in spirit.  Kelly Davis from Studio D Photography stepped in to capture their big day and I was able to take part in their nuptials by editing and revising their images.

What a perfect day they had!  One thing that stood out to me was the amount of love that poured from the images of their day- love from friends, family, and for one another.   Tiffany was absolutely glowing as a bride and it stole my heart to see her dancing in her dream “princess” dress.  I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything quite that beautiful.  There were so many personal touches- one especially pulled at my heart strings.  A little church set in Dundee Iowa where generations of Shea’s family has said their vows was the chosen location to have their ceremony.  Unfortunately, size and lack of cooling prevented their dream but nothing could stop them from capturing some images to remember that special spot for the next generations who hopefully can say “I do” there.  I felt a full range of emotions as I chose their final images but the one that kept returning was joy.  Barbara may say love is not to be seen with the human eye or that it can not be measured but I disagree that it is invisible after viewing Shea and Tiffany’s wedding day.  I saw it everywhere and am honored I get to share them all with you right now.  Congrats you two!
