Ms A was struggling to find herself after a toxic relationship did her in.  As a role model for two beautiful adult daughters, it was time to instill a little self-love and soul searching.  So what does that look like?  To each one of us it is different and for her, doing a shoot to see herself as others do was on her list.  Planning started from our first meeting on Zoom and questionnaires to allow me to really get to know her.  I spend a lot of time invested in knowing my clients and what is important to them.  Its the only way I can truly represent them.  It also allows my clients to remember what is important to them.

Tell us your story, a little bit about you and why you decided to do a boudoir session?

I am a mom of two beautiful daughters 23 and 21 and work full time in a law firm.  I’ve been married and divorced…twice – the last one about did me in. 8 years of mental, emotional, and financial abuse and gaslighting.  I lost my identity in that time and have struggled to regain that confidence in myself that doesn’t require working out 5 days a week, eating just enough to get by, and putting on a fake smile to the world.  I have since found an amazing man who loves every inch and curve of me and I can’t get enough of him! 🙂  I started out wanting to do something for him for Christmas and thought this would be a fun thing to do…but as I got my emails from Cassy it made me rethink my ‘why’.  It turns out, I wanted to feel sexy and beautiful without someone telling me, and feel it for myself, not what someone classified as sexy and beautiful.  As nervous as I was at the start, I truly enjoyed how I felt through the whole process.  Cassy made me feel relaxed and I felt comfortable once I just let go and told myself to have fun and live life to the fullest in the moment!  She truly captured that real smile I thought I would never see again!

What was your biggest concern prior to booking your Boudoir Session? How do you feel now?

My biggest concern was feeling trashy, and not being proud of what I looked like.  I googled “boudoir” and cringed at a few sites, but when I saw Cassy’s video of why she photographs boudoir I thought, “she is it, she knows what she’s doing”.  Besides, from the first zoom meeting to get to know Cassy and schedule my session I felt comfortable with her!  Cassy made me feel not only beautiful with the assistance of her make-up and hair artist, but every pose, look, smile, or grin was bringing out the me I hid for a long time.  Doing this session has made me smile more and remember that I am a beautiful creature…just as EVERY woman should feel!

What did doing this shoot do for your self-confidence, self-worth, and self-image? Tell me your story.

I had left a toxic relationship…one where I never felt I was worthy or enough. It was a struggle to leave and start over and regain my self-confidence and honestly just relearn to love who and WHAT I saw in the mirror every morning.  Through ups and downs in weight, emotions, and everything that goes with a toxic relationship I have begun to see the woman I was before toxicity entered my life.  I wanted to do a boudoir session in order to not only boost my self-confidence, but to someday show my daughters their curvy mom and say that wrinkle there, or that ‘fluff’ there IS beautiful and like one of the tattoos I did as a part of my “freedom leap” out of that relationship… “I AM ENOUGH”!! I hope that somehow it proves to my daughters, that being YOU is the best there is and we should embrace it.  It is the simplest of things that remind me of where I was in my personal life that I made it through and feel like the beautiful, deserving, worthy, enough, woman I am.  Cassy just helped me see it a little bit better in my photographs!!! <3

I can’t wait to schedule another session…perhaps a BIG one for a “BIG Birthday” coming!!
