“I’ve felt like a monster in my own skin for 10 years”

Ms A is one of my Embrace Ambassadors (and a ball python enthusiast). I opened a very limited number of slots in my shoot schedule in 2020 to work with women who have thought about about having a session but had obstacles that stood in their way. After seeing A’s application come through, I knew I had to work with her. She’s been battling a debilitating skin condition for over 10 years and it was time to feel beautiful.

She has a rare skin condition that took her years of battling with doctors to get diagnosed and treated. Even after she jumped that hurdle, there is no proven treatment that is 100% effective. She is very active in an online community to help support those living with the condition. Most people with battling this debilitating skin condition combat overwhelming depression and constant pain. It was a honor to work with and capture these images for her. She is truly gorgeous inside and out! Side note: she also raises Ball Pythons and brought one to her session. EPIC! Why did you do your boudoir shoot?

I was diagnosed with a debilitating skin condition at the age of 18. There is no cure or proven treatment for it and my inner thighs are riddled with scars. Ive felt like a monster in my own skin for 10 years now, but am an advocate for those in my community. I think stepping out of my comfort zone and having some pictures like this would really show others with my condition that we ARE beautiful…. No matter how this condition makes us feel.
