I’m not entirely sure where to begin with my story.  I had been dreaming of creating a promo video for my website for some time. Early last year, I decided to wait no more and reached out to several companies.  Pixel labs were the clear winners.  They are true artists and I knew I was in good hands.  It’s been an entire year since I worked with the staff at Pixel Labs but it seems just like yesterday.  From my initial meet with Zach Everman, the CEO OF Pixel labs, and his creative crew, I felt right at home. 

Let’s start by saying: I AM NOT a “in-front” of the camera kind of girl- like at all!  It’s probably why you don’t see me on social media very much.  I love shining the spotlight on others and showcasing what makes them special and unique.  Not to mention, I didn’t feel my “body” was camera ready.  Yes, ladies, we are our own worst critic and I was not to the place of loving myself or my body for what it was.  I still had an extra 50 lbs that I failed to lose after my son was born and the thought of them photographing my double chin kept me up at night.  

So the thought of featuring me and creating a promo video was TERRIFYING for me.  Zach knew this and made the process less intimidating.  He checked in with me prior to the big “shoot day” and even thought through how we could make the process more comfortable for me.  When we sat down to do my “interview”, it felt like two friends talking and learning more about each other.  By the time it came to capture me working, photographing clients, I barely even realized they were there or worried about my double chin.

The end result? Sidenote: I still have not lost that 50 lbs and yes have a double chin but I’ve come a long way over the last 12 months in not punishing myself or determining my value based on those two things.  You shouldn’t either- your beauty and power are not defined by what you see as “flaws”.  They are defined by you!
