“A person’s a person, no matter how small.” -Dr Seuss
Dr Seuss always seems to know just what to say and his wisdom is unmatched. Sweet little Greenlee entered this world at a tiny 6 lbs 11oz and stole my heart the minute I scooped her up in my arms. She was just 5 days old the day of her shoot and a wonderful little person in the making. It’s so exciting to meet a new little person and know that I am embarking on a whole new journey with them. Only a few littles ones have the opportunity to regularly “visit” my lens through their first year and this little sweet girl is one of them! This responsibility is one that I do not take lightly.
There was so much enthusiasm leading up to her grand entrance- anticipation from a family of three evolving into an even four and leveling out the boy/girl ratio. You could feel the love and excitement for this little girl’s arrival at the Maternity session. Isn’t her mom breathtakingly beautiful? Her big brother had been telling me about his sweet baby “siter” and he was smitten when she finally arrived. He was “all eyes on her” and just absolutely loved snuggling with her. How simple and amazing is that captured image between siblings? I told mom to hold onto that because that is a truly special moment that not everyone can enjoy. I pray that someday I will have something that special to hang on my wall. Now that I am a mother, it’s interesting how much more meaningful photographing newborns are. I can’t wait for this next year with Greenlee- it will go by so fast but getting to know her and watch her come into her own is going to be priceless.
